Casa Safira is a beautiful little cottage located in the countryside, enough to be a perfectly peaceful location, but not too far from civilisation! The typically Portuguese cottage, that has been renovated, is a gorgeous place for a summer getaway with you family, friends, or significant other!
Accommodation
The Living room is equipped with one 2-seater sofa, two arm-chairs, and a TV system that you will be able to access your Netflix and other apps on, or you can zap through 4 very popular Portuguese channels, for News, documentaries, soaps and the occasional film in English with Portuguese Subtitles!
Another typically Portuguese part of Casa Safira is the Kitchen. It has been equipped to cater to all your needs by the very sweet owner of the property, who has been cleaning rental properties for years. You can trust us that she knows exactly how a kitchen should be equipped for cooking even the most elaborate recipes. But, hopefully as you are on holiday you won't want elaborate, all of your basic needs will be there too :) From pots, to pans, glasses, to mugs and cutlery... The Kitchen has a gas hob and oven, a microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle, chopping boards, a little table with 4 chairs for dining indoors, and a washing machine! Oh and a radio in case you fancy some music with your breakfast!
With a double bed in each of the 2 bedrooms, you're guaranteed to have a peaceful night. All bedding, towels and beach towels will be there for you when you arrive. You can borrow our beach towels for your beach adventures, but we ask you to please be mindful and bring them back :) Each bedroom has a wardrobe, bed side cabinets, and of course, space for you to spread out your beauty products and get ready (either for a night out, or for bed!) in front of a mirror.
The renovated "out house" has a large, tiled, walk-in shower, a sink and mirror, and a toilet. Simple, but all you need in this little home away from home.
Definitely the cutest part of the cottage is the outside space, which has been covered in artificial grass, where you'll find another table and chairs for outdoor dining, sun loungers either for tanning, or relaxing in the shade from the fig tree! By the time you arrive for your holiday, there will be an above ground mini-pool, not massive at all but great for a dip to cool down in this summery weather. (pictures will be added as soon as it has been installed!) You will also find a barbecue that you are more than welcome to use. We do kindly ask you to clean up the ashes from the coal after use.
Last but not least, a Rooftop Terrace - With gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside, it's a great place to chill in the evening with a glass of Vinho! Equipped with 2 sun loungers, but you are welcome to take a couple of the plastic chairs up there too!
Overall, this little house is perfect if you are looking for a simple place to stay, enjoy, relax and have fun.
The Cottage has Wi-Fi.
Mosquito nets have been installed on all shutters.
Fans are provided to keep you cool.
The house is self catering. Toilet paper will be left for the first day, and a bin bag too. You will need to bring or purchase more.
Also, please note that charcoal for the Barbecue is not provided, but you can buy in all local supermarkets.
Car hire, which we can arrange, is recommended.

Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service - All towels are provided and will be changed on a regular basis. Bed linen is changed weekly. A mid-week maid/cleaning service is provided for bathroom cleaning and other light duties.

The nearest beaches to Casa Safira are Praia Senhora da Rocha (4km), Praia da Marinha, Praia Cova Redonda, Armação de Pêra, Benagil, Carvoeiro... All stunning beaches, and all within a 10 minute drive from your holiday home. The golden beaches and tourist areas of Carvoeiro, Armação de Pera, Ferragudo to name but a few are within 20-25 minutes drive, with many other coves and beaches within 30 minutes.
There are many fabulous clifftop walks along this stretch of coastline.
Slightly further afield are the West Coast beaches, perfect for surfing, and only a 45 minutes drive via the motorway.
The new Amendoeira Golf Course and Silves Pestana Golf Resort are just 10 minutes drive.
The Henry Cotton Penina and Alto Club Championship Courses, Salgados Links, Palmares and the new Golf Do Morgardo courses are all within a 25 minutes drive.
Discounted green fees and special packages are available on many courses.
Located only 40 minutes from Faro airport the villa is an ideal base from which to explore all the Algarve - 20 minutes to the coast, 10 minutes to golf, 25 minutes and the famous Algarve shopping with its designer shops, cinema, food court and huge supermarket .
The nearest supermarket is on a BIG roundabout you pass when coming off the Motorway, inside the Sudeste Retail Park. The supermarket is called Continente "Bom Dia". Inside the retail park you will also find other shops, a café and a Burger King.
For dining out, you can head down to Armação de Pêra, or Carvoeiro in the opposite direction, again both within a 10 minute drive from the property. In both towns you will find endless options for eating out, whether you want to try the local cuisine, or something you're more familiar.
There is a waterPark called Aqualand, about 5 minutes away, again you probably passed it on your way to Casa Safira, but there are others too. Slide&Splash in Lagoa is about 15 minutes away from the property, Zoomarine in Guia is also about 15 minutes away.
The villa is an ideal base for golf, walking, cycling, horse riding, surfing, bird watching and tennis holidays or just chilling out.
Car hire is recommended. For those not wishing to drive, we can arrange transfers from Faro airport to the accommodation.
Our friendly English speaking staff are on hand to welcome you, assist you when necessary and recommend places to visit. We never intrude on your privacy but are on hand to help out 24/7 if anything goes wrong. Your holiday is important to us.
As a small family business we look after a few villas in the area. We live locally, and know the area extremely well. We will provide you with detailed directions to the villa before your arrival. We can provide you with local information and organise taxi or/and a car hire. We look after our guests and make sure that everything is in order in the villa. We will provide you with a list of fabulous and cheap recommended restaurants and places worth a visit. We can also tell you which places to avoid!!
A cot is provided at the property. High chair is available on request for a small additional charge, please enquire.
